Chevrolet , Auto Success Story
William Durant Approached Louis Chevrolet to form a partnership which resulted in the founding of the Chevrolet Motor Company in 1911 . The company was so successful that by 1917 Durant and “his” Chevrolet Motor Company were able to controlling interest in General Motors Corporation .

Chevrolet was a basic transportation and family type vehicle and not noted for high performance until the mid 1950’s . 1955 was the year of Chevrolet’s first V8 engine , their 265 cid .in 1967 their 283 cid engine was introduced and then a mechanical fuel injection option was added , this made the “57 Chevy , a real performer on the Drag Strips and on Race Tracks , as well as the street of course .
