Durant - Extinct Autos
____________________
After leaving General Motors for the final time William Durant , production at his “Durant Motor” company began in 1921 and automobiles were produced until 1926 . Durant automobiles were not produced in 1926 and 1927 but production began again in 1928 and continued until 1932 .
Many of the parts used in the production of Durant automobiles were made by other manufacturers .
For example the 4 cylinder engines used in the 1921 to 1926 models and the 6 cylinder engines used from 1928 to 1932 were all Continental motors .
The Durant ,the Star , the Flint and the Rugby were all models of the Durant Motor company .
Durant also purchased the Locomobile company in 1922 . Dort-Frontenac and DeVaux were also automobile companies that were associated with or part of the Durant Motor company .
