Jeep Renegade - electric concept

The 2008 Jeep Renegade concept is powered by two (200 kilowatt) 268 horsepower electric motors . On its lithium-ion battery pack , it is capable of 40 miles of driving on a plug-in recharge . The Renegade also has a 3 cylinder 115 hp , 1.5 liter diesel engine that drives a generator to recharge the batteries while driving , which increases its driving range to about 400 miles . It is also equipped with a regenerative brake system to help support battery power . It is estimated that the fuel mileage would work out to the equivalent of about 110 miles per US gallon on gasoline .
